Advantages - much
improved body, electical and frame over previous years A300's Starting
in May of 2001 this is essentially a new bus design.
Disadvantages - ABC company
has exclusive rights to new bus sales and parts - this mean they control
the price of nearly everything
Notes - Third largest manufacturer
selling in the U.S.
Conversion Issues - nice
body styles, less popular in the U.S. the MAN engines, DAF engines, and
Mercedes engines used in these coaches can make finding replacement engine,
transmission and drivetrain parts difficult. If looking for a conversion
candidate insist on an original U.S. based import with a Cummins engine.
Van Hool Bus A600 1989 +
Advantages - long
running production means you may be able to find a second used bus to
cannibalize parts from.
Disadvantages - ABC company
has exclusive rights to new bus sales and parts - this mean they control
the price of nearly everything
Notes - A600 also called
the "InterUrban", Van Hool is third largest manufacturer selling
in the U.S. Early models round headlights later replaced with square.
Later years have less curved windshields
Conversion Issues - nice
